Managing Director
Gerben Dijkstra is a Managing Director and member of the Africa Private Markets investment team. He is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mr. Dijkstra was a Partner within Ethos, which was acquired by TRG in April 2023.
Mr. Dijkstra joined Ninety-One in 2008 and transitioned to Ethos in 2020 when Ethos took over the management of the Ninety-One funds and portfolio. He has differentiated experience in the full private equity value chain across the African continent. Mr. Dijkstra has been responsible for investments and realizations in, inter alia, financial services, education, telecommunication, and transport and logistics. He currently holds board positions in Richfield, J&J Transport, and is responsible for the fund's investment in IHS Towers. Before joining Ninety-One, he was a senior private equity investment professional at FMO, the Dutch development bank, in The Hague for eight years.
Mr. Dijkstra holds an MS degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and is fluent in French and Dutch.
